My 'better half', the violinist Fränzi Frick, together with Caterina Klemm, Nicole Hitz and Katharina Wälchli,
has formed a wonderfully uncomplicated string quartet that is much in demand, and which can create a real atmosphere.

| I have known Julia Fischer - both violinist and friend - since she was ten. She is currently, and deservedly,
riding a wave of success, and at the age of 23 she already belongs to the 'champion's league' of the world's violinists.
ur concerts together have taken us throughout Europe, Japan and the USA. |

| The successful Zurich composer David Philip Hefti is also one of my dear friends. Recently, I made CD recordings
of his piano works and his chamber music with piano. He has dedicated an Adagio for piano to me, of which I gave the world
première in Beijing in May 2006. |

| I am grateful to have been able to study in Homero's master course in Zurich. He really 'polished' me,
and made me acquainted with all the tools of the trade that a concert pianist needs. The fact that we have remained
good friends since I finished my studies is something that I regard as an honour. |

| The sought-after Zurich composer Martin Wettstein and his family also belong amongst my long-time friends.
Martin was the dearest of my fellow students, and I am today the proud godfather of his wonderful little boy, Valentin. |

I have enjoyed a great friendship and collaboration with her. |

| When I was eleven years old, I became a pupil of the pianist and pedagogue Emmy Henz-Diémand.
She taught me for almost a decade, and exercised a decisive influence on me, in both artistic and personal matters.
The understanding I have of myself as both artist and musician is largely thanks to Emmy. In the summer of 2006,
she was deservedly awarded the Cultural Prize of the city of Aarau for her important activities in the fields of art,
pedagogy and cultural politics. Brava, Emmy! |

| Ever since our first meeting with Gilad and his wife Jill Arbetter from Arbetter Artists we’ve become great friends. Gilad is one of my favourite chamber music partners. We intend to increase the number of projects within the next couple of years. From my point of view, Gilad is one of the most interesting and versatile violists of our day. He is the principal violist of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich.

| Link to the great composer and saxophonist Daniel Schnyder. Many people ask if we’re related. My final answer: Not that we’re aware of!
